I’ve read that many body-builders only eat protein and very few carbs. Is this the best way to gain mass and muscle?

I have tried out every diet in the book but nothing worked as good as colon cleanse. I know they say that pills do not work, however they sure worked for me, and they’ve been featured on CBS News too. There’s a free trial happening right now at http://mopect.buildinghealthy.info , try it, what is the worst that could happen?

hi a high protien diet is best for gaining muscle mass, as a ex body builder my self i used to have a high protien diet but you still need your carbs, you only shy away from carbs when you are getting cut for a comp, you also need to train hard as well to build up that muscle, protien powders are also good

Hello James,
I don´t think there is a “best” way to gain muscle mass because all of us are different.
But you have to understand that many pro bodybuilders take steroids, so you should not try to look to them for dieting advice.
From my personal experience, I have found that it is better to do carb-timing. In other words, keep carbs low throughout the day, and only eat them before and after working out.
The idea is to fuel your workouts with carbs and then to replenish your muscle glycogen after a workout.
Of course high protein intake is essential for building muscle although don´t go overboard with it.
Don´t forget to also take in some EFAs (omega 3-6-9 fats) because they also help in giving you energy and synthesizing protein.
Best of luck!
